The MS Society is funding specialist MS physiotherapist posts to meet a need demonstrated by people living with multiple sclerosis (MS), and to combat NHS cuts.In an interview on the BBC Radio 4 You and Yours programme, MS Society chief executive, Simon Gillespie, said that the charity was increasingly having to fund physiotherapy posts at a cost of £40,000 each due to a shortage.

The MS Society is to launch a new initiative that aims to reassure carers of people with multiple sclerosis (MS) that their duties will still be carried out in an emergency.The free Carers Emergency Card gives 24-hour access to temporary cover for an unexpected situation and leaves the carers safe in the knowledge that their relative or friend will be looked after.

Nearly all people (97 percent) with multiple sclerosis (MS) who have started treatment say their commitment to managing their disease in every way possible is their prime motivation for staying on therapy, according to a new North American survey of people with MS, results of which were released today at the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers annual meeting in Denver.
